Our Procedures

WHAT IS RIGHT FOR YOU?

Breast Augmentation Surgery

We at the Aesthetic Breast Surgery Centre have an approach that individualises both the surgical technique and implant choice to the patient. The most important thing we work together on is your desired outcome in terms of shape and size. We then work through what can reasonably be achieved based on your underlying breast shape and size and your chest wall shape, as well as your tissue quality, occupation, exercise requirements etc.

There are many different approaches to the surgery and many different implants available. Each can have an influence on the final outcome and it is the experience of over 20 years in this surgery that enables us to work closely with you to pick the right implant and technique. No one technique and no one style of implant will suit everyone. Also a round implant does not always give a round breast, and alternatively an anatomical implant does not always give a tear drop shaped breast!

Breast Lifts (Mastopexy)

A breast lift is suitable for patients who have sufficient volume in their breasts but the breasts have dropped after pregnancy and breast feeding or with aging. If in a bra you are happy with the volume of your breasts then this may be more suitable than other forms of breast surgery. It can also be possible to have a breast lift after removal of implants rather than having new implants. This procedure can also be combined with breast implants if some volume is needed.

Breast Reduction Surgery

At the Aesthetic Breast Surgery Centre we use a variety of surgical techniques and it is important that we use the one that best suits you. This will depend on your shape, age, and breast feeding requirements.

It is nearly always necessary to lift the nipple and this is moved upwards attached to an internal "stalk" of breast tissue. This stalk is otherwise termed "the pedicle" and can be superior, inferior or supero-medial. The choice depends on your shape to start with and where most of the tissue needs to be removed. It does not have anything to do with the scar placement.

Blepharoplasty

Blepharoplasty is surgery to the eyelids. Excess skin and fat in the eyelids can be very ageing. The result from eyelid surgery will be a rejuvenated appearance with better definition of the upper eyelid crease.

There are many reasons people have tired looking eyes – including lifestyle, genetics and ageing. Excess skin in the upper eyelids can also cause problems with obstruction of vision. This procedure will be for you if you want to rejuvenate this area to give a more defined upper eyelid crease, and to restore the smooth line of the lower eyelid region.

Breast Reconstruction

Breast reconstruction can be performed in the setting of complete or partial mastectomy. Breast reconstruction can not only change your physical appearance, but can have psychological benefits as well.

Breast reconstruction can be performed at the time of mastectomy (immediate reconstruction), or at a variable time AFTER mastectomy (delayed reconstruction). Reconstruction can be grouped in to two main methods: prosthetic (implants) and autologous (using your own tissue). Even if you have had radiotherapy, you may still be a candidate for breast reconstruction surgery. Breast reconstruction surgery is often performed in more than one stage i.e. you will often require more than one operation.

Abdominoplasty

A “tummy tuck” removes excess skin and fat from the abdomen and tightens the underlying muscle wall. The procedure is ideally suited to people who have overhanging, loose skin as well as excess fat.

Ideal candidates for tummy tuck surgery are those who have excess skin and fat around the abdomen. Pregnancy, rapid weight loss and yo-yo dieting can all cause the skin around the stomach area to become baggy and loose, making it look flabby and fat even if you are not overweight. During pregnancy, the muscles of the abdominal wall are stretched and can result in weakness. This is turn can cause back pain, urinary problems, and contour issues in the abdomen.

Liposuction

If you have stubborn pockets of body fat that no amount of exercise or dieting can shift then liposuction could be for you. The procedure is not a quick-fix weight loss treatment for obesity – it is designed to contour and improve the shape of your body and is best suited to people who are a healthy weight but have areas of fat they can’t get rid of.

The ideal candidate for a liposuction procedure is someone of a healthy, stable weight with good quality skin who has pockets of fat in specific areas that they would like removed. It can also be used in combination with other treatments – such as breast reduction – to create a balanced body.

Thigh Lift

A thigh lift or thigh reduction will tighten sagging muscles and remove excess skin in the thigh area. Many women are concerned about the size and shape of their thighs so this procedure will improve the body contour and can give you a renewed sense of confidence.

Ideal candidates for thigh lift surgery are those who are a classic ‘pear shape’ and carry most of their excess weight on their lower body, or those who have had significant weight loss and have excess skin in this region.
